A Note From Our Athletic Director

Dear Principal / Coach,

On behalf of our principal, Dr. Joel Henneke, welcome to Waldrop Stadium, home of Patriots Football. This guide covers everything you'll need for the upcoming contest — gameday contacts, parking, directions, and ticket information.

Arrival & Parking

Getting In

All buses enter the main gate on Snow Drive, where staff will direct you to your parking area. Parking is included in the purchase of a game ticket.

Team Arrival
  • Enter the main gate on Snow Drive — you'll be directed where to park the buses
  • The visitor locker room is on the north side of the parking lot
  • An administrator will meet you at the visitor gate for entry
  • Only coaches and players in uniform will be allowed to enter
Band Arrival
  • Enter the main gate on Snow Drive — you'll be directed where to park the buses
  • The band should enter through the visitor gate
  • Only band members and their workers will be allowed to enter
Visitor Parking
  • Parking is available on site
  • Visitors may park in the main lot, the overflow stadium lots, and the West Homewood Athletic Complex (see diagram)
  • Recommended: Enter at West Homewood Park and drive around to the 6 Acres parking lot — it's the closest lot to the visitor entrance
  • Parking is included with your game ticket

Know Before You Go

Stadium Information

Pass Gate

  • AHSAA passes accepted — cardholders must be present and may bring one guest per pass
  • Team managers, film crew, and athletic trainers must accompany the team on arrival or show proper ID at the main pass gate

Press Box

  • Visitor coaches use the stairs at the 40-yard line; only uniformed members may enter
  • Power will be made available
  • Need extra space? Notify our Athletic Director 2 weeks before the event

Sideline & Track

  • No vehicles on the track
  • Tents and electronic devices are allowed on the track — power should be working, but come prepared to meet your own needs just in case
  • Lifts or other end-zone/track equipment require Athletic Director approval 2 weeks prior

Trainers & Medical

  • Two certified athletic trainers and one team physician on the sideline each game
  • AED located at the main gate
  • Homewood Police & Fire on hand at every home varsity game
  • Regional Paramedic Service (RPS) on site for any medical transport needs

Prohibited Items

  • Outside food and drink
  • Personal heaters
  • Alcohol, tobacco, and electronic cigarettes
  • Firearms or weapons of any kind

Weather

  • Our Head Athletic Trainer and administration will notify you of severe weather in the area
  • Appropriate announcements will be made in the stadium and posted on the video board if needed

Media & Broadcast Information

Homewood streams every event at Waldrop Stadium to our NFHS Network page and our football regular season games on YouTube as well.

Visitor Broadcast Info

  • Visiting teams are always welcome to broadcast games from Waldrop Stadium. However, we do not have press box space available for visiting broadcasts.
  • Visitors are allowed to set up anywhere on the visitor side that they would like.
  • There is power available on the sideline for your use.
  • If you bring a production truck, it will need to be parked by your team's bus, near the visitor locker room.
  • Please email specifics of your broadcast to Asst. AD Jon Lunceford to confirm that you are coming and so that we can make special arrangements if needed.

Third Party Broadcast Info

  • Third parties (such as TV stations, radio stations, etc.) are welcome to broadcast as well. However, we do not have press box space available for any third party broadcasts.
  • Please contact Homewood before coming so we can try to accommodate your needs.
  • Please note - broadcasts from the visiting team take priority after our own.
  • If you would like to broadcast one of our games, please email Asst. AD Jon Lunceford details.

Credentialed Media

  • We welcome all AHSAA credentialed media to our home games. Simply visit the front pass gate and sign in.
  • If you do not have an official AHSAA media pass, please contact our athletic office for availability of a media and sideline credential. If you do not contact our office and show up without proper credentials, you will not be allowed in as media, nor allowed on the sideline.
  • There is no space available in the press box for outside print media during the game.

Video & Photography

  • All of our games are broadcast live, so we ask that if you do not stream the game if you aren't the approved home, visitor or third party broadcast.
  • If you would like to take photos on the sideline, and aren't an approved AHSAA credentialed media member, then we ask that you please contact AD Rick Baguley. There is a small fee for taking photos and video if you are not an approved media member, but this fee will allow you on the sideline to take photos.

Directions to Waldrop Stadium

266 Snow Drive, Homewood, AL 35209 — please note the stadium is at a different location from the Homewood High School campus.

From I-65 North

  1. Follow I-65 S to Lakeshore Pkwy, Exit 255
  2. Bear RIGHT onto Lakeshore Drive and continue about 1.5 miles
  3. Turn RIGHT onto West Oxmoor Road and travel about 0.5 miles
  4. Turn RIGHT onto Snow Drive — the stadium is 0.3 miles ahead on your LEFT

From I-65 South

  1. Follow I-65 N to Lakeshore Pkwy, Exit 255
  2. Turn LEFT onto Lakeshore Drive and continue about 1.6 miles
  3. Turn RIGHT onto West Oxmoor Road and travel about 0.5 miles
  4. Turn RIGHT onto Snow Drive — the stadium is 0.3 miles ahead on your LEFT
